The Alpha Course, which began in an Anglican church in London, and has now been experienced by over 11 million Christians worldwide, will be held at St Paul's Episcopal Church, Louisville, KY starting September 17.

 

You work yourself silly, mostly to meet the needs of others. Even if you reach the pinnacle of your "highest mountain" there may continue the haunting question that perhaps there's something more to life than deadlines, bottom lines, cell phones and 24/7 access. You may not be nurturing your spiritual self.

The Alpha Course, which began in an Anglican church in London, and has now been experienced by over 11 million Christians worldwide, will be held at St Paul's for ten consecutive Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting September 17. The Alpha Course takes a fresh look at the Good News in a series of ten informal talks by both our clergy and laity, singing, small groups over supper, all in the environment of a joyous and inquiring community of friends. Table talk includes "What is the meaning of life?", "What relevance does Jesus have today?", "How do we deal with guilt?", "How do I gain the Holy Spirit's strength in my life?", "Where does Faith fit in?", and "What happens when I die?"

In addition to renewing our own spiritual journey, Alpha is intended also as an Outreach opportunity to invite friends and neighbors. So, believers, inquirers and doubters are all welcome.  Who would you like to bring closer to God?


St. Paul's will provide all course materials and supper. Participants are asked to pay $69 toward ten meals and refreshments before beginning the program. (A supervised study hall as well and an attended t.v. room will be available if parents request them in advance.)  A Reservation Request Form is available in the church narthex or by calling 491-7417.
