Jake Smith Confirmed by Presiding Bishop

Jake Smith, son of Mark and Katherine Kirzinger Smith, was confirmed by the Most Rev. Dr. Katherine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church, Saturday, May 17, at a diocesan service of Holy Baptism, Confirmation, and Reception, held at All Saints Camp and Conference Center in Grayson County. Congregations from all over the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky sent candidates and representatives.
It was a beautiful day, complete with deer and butterflies nearby during the service. St. Thomas folks were transported to All Saints by a minibus furnished by our sisters and brothers at South Campbellsville Baptist Church.
Jake, his parents, and grandmother Joan Kirzinger, and the group attending from St. Thomas, are all pictured with our diocesan bishop, the Rt. Rev. Edwin (Ted) Gulick, Jr.
Jake receives the rite of confirmation from the Presiding Bishop.
